Antiepileptic drug. Zonisamide, an active ingredient of this product, is a compound which exerts antiepileptic effect by blocking sodium channels and low-voltage activated calcium channels at the neurotransmission site in the brain to suppress excitation of nerve cells.

Indications
Mitigation of attacks associated with idiopathic epilepsy in dogs.
Dosage & Administration
Orally administer twice a day at a dosage of 2.5 to 15 mg Zonisamide per 1 kg body weight with food, immediately before or after feeding, to dogs with body weight of 2.0 kg or more.
Conduct interview on clinical conditions (attacks or adverse reactions), physiological test, hematology test, biochemical test, measurement of zonisamide concentration in serum (minimal zonisamide concentration in blood at steady state) for monitoring every 1 to 6 weeks during administration, as a rough indication, and adjust the dosage as appropriate.
