Outline General anesthetic of pentobarbital sodium that belongs to short-acting barbiturates among 4 kinds of barbiturates consisting of long-, intermediate-, short-, and ultrashort-acting barbiturates classified according to the duration of action. Active Ingredients Pentobarbital sodium Indications Cattle: Sedation in minor surgery, diagnosis for nervous animals, sedation at treatment. General anesthesia in surgical operation.

Swine: General and basal anesthesia in surgical operation.

Minks: General anesthesia in surgical operation.Dosage and Administration Administer as intravenous, intraperitoneal, or intramuscular injection at a dosage described in the package insert as pentobarbital sodium in general, adjusting the dose depending on health and anesthetic condition of the animal. When intravenously administered, infuse relatively rapidly a half of the total dosage and rather slowly the remaining dosage adequately observing anesthetic condition.
